After the strong development of rapeseed varieties resistant to the TuYV virus, such as LG Architect (the most widely grown variety in Europe in 2019 and 2020), the Business Unit* Limagrain Europe has developed new varieties called N-Flex.
Nitrogen fertilization of rapeseed is difficult to manage for the success of the crop because it depends on soil and climatic conditions, real needs and regulations.
Varieties integrating the N-Flex trait have the genetic capacity to optimize the available nitrogen during their vegetative cycle: thus, they are better able to tolerate sporadic shortages of soil nitrogen supply.
More efficient in nitrogen, these varieties optimize the use of fertilization tools and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In addition to high yield potential, resistance to the TuYV virus and resistance to pod shattering, the N-Flex trait is a new lever for yield regularity and more sustainable production.
LG Aviron and LG Ambassador are the first two varieties sold with the N-Flex trait in France and Europe.
